Google Panda 4 Update – Fur coat and no knickers

Wow. Seldom has so much been said, by so many, about so little. In the Bard’s words, it is “a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing”. All mouth and no trousers. Fur coat and no knickers.

What’s going on? Apparently another iteration of Google’s infamous Panda algorithm update has been released. It is far too early to pin down what effect it’ll have on the SERPs. But speculation is nevertheless rife.

Google Panda 4 update – There is no news…. yet

I don’t get speculation. It’s such a pointless exercise. Leave it a couple of weeks and we’ll know full well what effect the latest Panda update has – or hasn’t – had. Until then, so what?
Assuming you’ve played the game and done the decent thing, adding nothing but the very best, most desirable and sexy content to your website, it’s doubtful you will be slapped. If you’re an obedient digital marketer who takes Google’s requirements on the chin and runs with them, you might even notice your pages get better SERPs positions than those of competing, less agreeable websites. But you won’t know for a while yet.
If, on the other hand, you’ve relentlessly taken the piss, doing everything in your dastardly power to overtly manipulate Google’s system and flout their guidelines, your search positions may suffer. If so, it’s far too late to do anything about it. You are already stuffed.
Until the dratted thing has bedded in, we really don’t know. So let’s shut up about it… myself included!
